Display Problems with graphics in the Q32 NeXus Software

Lock Windows 10/11 advanced scaling settings

Update June 2024


Issue: Display Problems with graphics in the Q32 NeXus Software due to new windows 10 and windows 11 updates in 2024. 


Solution :


Apply manual changes to the display settings of the Windows desktop. 


Note: the display settings need to be set for both the computer/laptop display as well as the secondary display (client screen).


With these changes the graphics (such as the bar graphs and the line graphs) will display correctly in the NeXus software. 


WINDOWS 10 STEPS TO SOLVE DISPLAY PROBLEMS

Step-1: Enter Display Settings - Advanced Scaling Settings

For Windows-10, right click on your desktop and choose “Display Settings”, then scroll down to the Scale and layout options; Then click on advanced scaling settings.


Step-2 Changing the Advanced Scaling options

For Windows 10 - set the scaling to 100 and click on apply. 

The Fix Apps settings can be off.



Step-3: Signing out and signing in

After making the change to the advanced scaling settings, Windows will notify you that you will have to sign out, before these changes can be applied. 


Sign out, and then sign in again

After that the settings will be correct.

Step-4: verify your desktop settings

Before you start the NeXus software, please verify that the display resolution is set to 1920 x 1080 pixels. 


In case you use multiple displays (monitor), set the display resolution of your secondary monitor to 1920x1080. 



Step-5: Start NeXus Q32 Software

Start the NeXus Software, by clicking on the desktop icon.  Now the graphics will display correctly.



WINDOWS 11 STEPS TO SOLVE DISPLAY PROBLEMS

Step-1: Enter Display Settings - Advanced Scaling Settings

For Windows-11, right click on your desktop and choose “Show more options” and then on “Display Settings”, then scroll down to the Scale and layout options; Then click on the [>] button to switch to the advanced scaling settings.


Step-2 Changing the Advanced Scaling options

Select custom scaling options, please enter 100 in the custom scaling and confirm by clicking on the checkmark button, on the right side.


Step-3: Signing out and signing in

After making the change to the advanced scaling settings, Windows will notify you that you will have to sign out, before these changes can be applied. 


Sign out, and then sign in again.  

After that the settings will be correct.

Step-4: verify your desktop settings

Before you start the NeXus software, please verify that the display resolution is set to 1920 x 1080 pixels.In case you use multiple displays (monitor), please also set the display resolution of your secondary monitor to 1920x1080. 


Step-5: Start NeXus Q32 Software

Start the NeXus Software, by clicking on the desktop icon.  Now the graphics will display correctly.
