NeXus Q32 Sensors Configuration and Modality Preferences

Introduction

Select the SAD for which the sensor configuration is displayed via the tabs (Figure 1.1). This is only available when multiple SAD types are present in the software. Select the sensor types to connect to the corresponding SAD inputs. Click “Save” to save the adjusted sensor configuration.

EEG/QEEG recording with 21 Channel of Ten/20 system

Connect your EEG Head Cap to the input in the NeXus | Q32 amplifier as shown in below figure 1.2
Note: you don’t need to connect an external  ground cable as the EEG head cap already has a ground point.

Neurofeedback Training

Training One Location in the Brain

  1. Connect ExG or EEG Sensor to NeXus | Q32:

    • Connect your EEG sensor to input 1EXG2.

    • Connect your ground cable to input GND on the NeXus | Q32 amplifier

(see Figure 1.3).

  1. Connect Electrodes to the Sensor:

    • Snap-On the EEG electrodes to the Ch1 cable of the Sensor.

      • Red: Active

      • Black: Reference

    • Attach the electrodes to the patient's head.

Training Two Locations in the Brain

  1. Repeat Step 1 and Step 2 for the first location.

  2. Connect Electrodes to the Sensor for the Second Location:

    • Connect the EEG electrodes to Ch2 of the ExG or EEG sensor.

    • Attach the electrodes to the patient's head.

Training Three or Four Locations in the Brain

For this a 4 Channel EEG Linked Ear sensor is recommended.

  1. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the first two locations.

  2. Connect EEG Sensor for Additional Locations:

    • Connect your second cable of the EEG sensor to input 3EXG4 on the NeXus | Q32 amplifier

(see Figure 1.4).

  1. Connect EEG Electrodes:

    • For the third location, connect the EEG electrodes to Ch1:

      • Red: Active

      • Black: Reference

  • For the fourth location, repeat the connection and attachment process as described for the third location with the Ch2 cable part.

EMG Biofeedback Training

Training One Muscle

  1. Connect EXG Sensor to NeXus | Q32:

    • Connect your EXG sensor to input 1EXG2.

    • Connect your ground cable to input GND on the NeXus | Q32 amplifier

(see Figure 1.3).

  1. Connect EMG Electrodes:

    • Connect the EMG electrodes to Ch1:

      • Red: Active

      • Black: Reference

    • Attach the electrodes to the target muscle on the patient.

Training Two Muscles

  1. Repeat Step 1 and Step 2 for the first muscle.

  2. Connect EMG Electrodes for the Second Muscle:

    • Connect the EMG electrodes to Ch2.

    • Attach the electrodes to the second target muscle on the patient.

Training Three or Four Muscles

  1. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the first two muscles.

  2. Connect EXG Sensor for Additional Muscles:

    • Connect your EXG sensor to input 3EXG4 on the NeXus | Q32 amplifier

(see Figure 1.4).

  1. Connect EMG Electrodes:

    • For the third muscle, connect the EMG electrodes to Ch1:

      • Red: Active

      • Black: Reference

    • Attach the electrodes to the third target muscle on the patient.

    • For the fourth muscle, repeat the connection and attachment process as described for the third muscle on cable part Ch2
