- HD+ (1600 x 900) or Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen resolution
- USB 2.0 port
- Bluetooth BLE BT 5.4 support for the new NeXus systems (most computers do provide Bluetooth 4 or higher not optimized for connecting NeXus devices and we recommend a Bluetooth dongle)
Additional
- Secondary monitor for optimal use of dual screen mode (HD+ or Full HD).
- Broadband internet connection for software activation, software updates and access to online services.
Recommendations
Given the experiences from Biotrace+ users we recommend Lenovo LOQ (gaming level laptops).

Operating System (Pro / Enterprise vs. Home)
Windows 11 Home edition is NOT supported for clinical and continuous measurement environments.
Continuous biofeedback and neurofeedback data acquisition relies on uninterrupted background data streaming, steady CPU clock rates, and active COM/USB/Bluetooth I/O channels. Windows 11 Home enforces consumer-focused features—such as aggressive Modern Standby, EcoQoS (Power Throttling), and non-configurable USB Selective Suspend—that automatically sleep idle hardware ports or throttle background processes if user activity (mouse/keyboard) is not detected for a few minutes.
Furthermore, monthly Windows Home updates frequently reset user-defined power and security settings, causing silent telemetry dropouts during live client sessions.
Why Windows 11 Pro / Enterprise is Mandatory:
Group Policy Management (GPO): Allows administrators to permanently lock down USB/Bluetooth power-saving behaviors and CPU throttling rules so that monthly Windows updates cannot override them.
Deterministic Power Control: Ensures raw sensor telemetry via USB or Bluetooth BLE runs with uncompromised priority and zero background execution throttling.
