Managing Clients and Sessions in BioTrace+

Adding a New Client

  1. Open BioTrace+ and navigate to Client Database.

  2. Click Add New Client.

  3. Fill in client details (Last Name and First Name are mandatory).

  4. Click OK to save the client profile.

Editing Client Information

  1. Open Client Database.

  2. Select a client and click Edit Client.

  3. Modify the necessary fields and click OK.

Recording a New Session

  1. Ensure your NeXus device is connected.

  2. Choose a training screen from the Home Menu.

  3. Click Record in the Session Control Bar.

  4. Select a client or create a new one.

  5. Click Start Recording.

  6. Click Stop when finished.

  7. Click Yes to save the session and add a description.

Reviewing Past Sessions

  1. Open Client Database.

  2. Select a client to see their session list.

  3. Click Open Session.

  4. Click Play to replay the session.

  5. Use the Session Control Bar to navigate through the session.

Backing Up Sessions

  1. Go to Configuration > System Settings.

  2. Check Use Data Directory.

  3. Select a networked drive to store session data.

  4. Click OK to apply settings.


Using Feedback and Thresholds in BioTrace+

Types of Feedback

BioTrace+ provides multiple feedback options:

  • Graph-based Feedback: Real-time data visualization.

  • Audio Feedback: Uses sounds or MIDI tones.

  • Video Feedback: Uses animations or imported video files.

  • Game-based Feedback: Interactive biofeedback games.

Setting Thresholds

  1. Select a training screen in BioTrace+.

  2. Locate the Threshold Controls on the right.

  3. Click Manual Threshold to adjust levels manually.

  4. Click Automatic Threshold for auto-adjustment.

  5. To disable a threshold, click Disable Threshold.

  6. Choose Train Up or Train Down to set training direction.

  7. Right-click the graph and select Feedback Options & Thresholds for advanced settings.

Importing Custom Feedback Content

  1. Go to File > Import Audio Files or Import Video Files.

  2. Select the folder containing your media files.

  3. Click Add to import files into BioTrace+.


Analyzing Session Data in BioTrace+

Viewing a Session Overview

  1. Open a session in Client Database.

  2. Click Session Overview.

  3. Use zoom and scrolling to analyze specific data points.

  4. Right-click to access analysis options.

Computing Session Statistics

  1. Right-click the Session Overview screen.

  2. Select Compute Statistics > On Entire Session.

  3. View min, max, mean, and standard deviation values.

Generating Trend Reports

  1. Open Client Database.

  2. Select a client and click Trend Reports.

  3. Click Create New Report.

  4. Configure session data and analysis preferences.

  5. Click Generate Report.


Exporting and Importing Sessions in BioTrace+

Exporting Sessions

  1. Open Client Database.

  2. Select a client session and click Export Sessions.

  3. Choose export format (.bcd, ASCII, EDF, MATLAB, etc.).

  4. Click Save and select a destination folder.

Importing Sessions

  1. Open Client Database.

  2. Click Import Sessions.

  3. Select a .bcd file and click Open.

  4. Choose an existing client or create a new one.

  5. Click Next to complete the import process.

Importing from NeXus Flash Memory

  1. Connect the NeXus device to your computer.

  2. Open Client Database.

  3. Click Import from Flash Memory.

  4. Select session(s) to import.

  5. Click Import Selected Sessions.

  6. Click Recompute Session Overview to assign recorded data correctly.
