How to check the USB/Fiber connection for NeXus-32

If you encounter issues with the USB/Fiber connection on your NeXus-32 device, it will attempt to establish a connection via Bluetooth. Should this alternative connection method fail, BioTrace+ will display an error message. Despite this, the FUSBI and Fiber cable might still be connected, leading to mistaken belief of successful USB/Fiber connection.

Follow these steps to verify the connection:

  1. Ensure the FUSBI is correctly recognized by the computer:
    1. Check if the Device Manager lists the FUSBI upon connection via USB.
    2. Verify that the green light on the FUSBI is illuminated.
    3. Look for a red LED light within one of the FUSBI's 'pins'.
  2. Examine the Fiber cable:
    1. Confirm that a red LED light is visible on one of the pins at the other end of the cable when it is connected.
  3. Check the NeXus-32 device during a recording session:
    1. If the display shows 'Fiber', this indicates a successful Fiber connection.
    2. If 'Serial' is displayed, the device is recording via a Bluetooth connection.
