Configuring 50/60 Hz Notch Filter in BioTrace+

Step-by-Step Guide to Configure 50/60 Hz Notch Filter in BioTrace+

Follow the steps below to enable the Notch filter for removing electrical interference in your BioTrace+ software:

  1. Begin by accessing your desired measurement screen, such as QEEG, EEG, EMG, among others.
  2. Initiate the channel set window by pressing the 'C' key. You'll see the channel set name displayed at the top of this window.
  3. Identify the channel you wish to adjust. For NeXus-10, select channels 1-4; for NeXus-32, choose channels 1-21 (if using an EEG cap) or 25-28 (if using an EXG/EEG sensor); and for NeXus-4, opt for channels 1-2.
  4. Click on 'Edit' for the channel you've selected.
  5. Choose '50 Hz Notch ON' or '60 Hz Notch ON' based on your geographical location and the common electrical interference frequency (50 Hz in most countries, 60 Hz in the USA and others).
  6. Apply your changes by clicking 'Apply', then confirm by clicking 'OK'. Remember to perform these steps for each channel that requires Notch filtering.
  7. To save your adjusted channel set, click 'File' then select 'Save channel SET as...'. This can either overwrite the existing set or be saved as a new channel set with a different name.

Ensure you follow these steps to effectively reduce electrical interferences and gain more accurate readings in your BioTrace+ software.
